A Circle of Care: A Journey of Support and Gratitude in Lebanon

In 2019, Lebanon went through an extremely difficult economic period due to the financial crisis and subsequent economic collapse that struck the country. This situation, worsened by strikes, led to a shortage of numerous medications, including those essential for treating chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and other vital therapies.

During that time, the Focolare Movement – Humanité Nouvelle took the initiative to guarantee the supply of medicines, responding to the needs of individuals who had registered and reported their situations. Among the beneficiaries were my husband and I, as well as my mother, my brother, and my sister, all of whom required medication.

Since then, my family and I benefited from this support until March 2026.

Over the course of this year, our situation has improved, and we now have the opportunity to obtain our medications from neighboring countries. There, the cost is significantly lower than in Lebanon, where pharmaceutical prices remain extremely high.

Consequently, believing it was my duty to stop receiving the financial support provided by the Humanité Nouvelle – Focolare Movement association—so that other people in need could benefit in our place—I realized that I am now able to independently provide the necessary medicines for my family.

Therefore, I requested that the aid allocated to us be discontinued as of the end of March 2026.

I wish to express my deepest gratitude and most sincere thanks to the Focolare Movement for the support they offered us over these years. This aid had an incredibly positive impact, enabling us to get through one of the most difficult periods of our lives.

I wish you every success in the continuation of your mission, and may the Lord bless all your endeavors.
