Supporting Displaced Families at Maison Sainte-Anne, Lebanon

Budget: ~100,000 USD

Beneficiaries: ~150 people

Duration: ~3 months

Since May 2026, The association Humanité Nouvelle has been leading a new humanitarian initiative to support displaced families hosted at Maison Sainte-Anne. This reception center is currently sheltering 110 people who were forced to flee their homes in various parts of southern Lebanon due to ongoing insecurity and hostilities.

Building on the initiatives the Association has developed over the years—and thanks to the crucial support of AMU and the Focolare Movement—this project aims to ensure that displaced individuals find a safe, welcoming, and dignified environment during this challenging time.

Meeting Essential Needs and Enhancing Daily Life

The assistance provided focuses on meeting essential needs, including food, heating, electricity, and water. To improve daily living conditions, Humanité Nouvelle has also coordinated the distribution of:

  • Bed sheets and towels

  • Clothing

  • Fans

  • Kitchen supplies

Educational, Psychological, and Community Support

Particular attention is dedicated to the educational and psychological well-being of the families. Support activities for children and young people help them continue their education, while psychological assistance is offered to those coping with the emotional toll of displacement and uncertainty.

Beyond material aid, the project seeks to foster a sense of community and human closeness. Volunteers regularly organize informal gatherings and shared moments for both adults and children, creating opportunities for dialogue, active listening, and mutual support. These encounters help restore hope and strengthen social bonds within the center.

Looking Ahead

The initiative is initially planned for a three-month duration and may be extended if the current situation persists or if families remain unable to return safely to their homes.

A dedicated team of volunteers works daily at Maison Sainte-Anne, supported by staff members and committed individuals who contribute to educational, recreational, and community programs tailored to the residents' diverse needs.

Humanité Nouvelle wishes to express its deepest gratitude to all partners, supporters, and volunteers whose generosity makes this vital work possible. Together, we continue to stand alongside the most vulnerable, promoting solidarity, dignity, and peace.
